The role of leadership in fostering psychological safety in workplace
The best leaders have a high consideration factor. They really care about their people.
-Brian Tracy
A leader can break or shape an employee’s career. With more power comes more responsibility said someone. When one is in a leadership position. One can never say I don't care about how he performs. A leader should get into the situation and should take responsibility to solve the issue that the employee is struggling with. A leader should take responsibility to foster the psychological safety of his team. Instead of shaming and blaming a person for the performance a leader should give moral support and encourage the person, teach the person where he lacks the understanding to make him perform well. A leader should know how to handle all kinds of people in a team. He or she should be to respect the individuals. He or she should make that a culture of the team. The leader should know how to groom an individual. A leader cannot wash her hands over a situation. A leader should ensure to provide psychological safety in the team.
